Omnipay new member in Eurogiro

Manilla, 19 January 2017 – Omnipay and Eurogiro signed a connection agreement that links the leading pre-paid card network in the Philippines and Eurogiro’s worldwide payments network. Eurogiro and Omnipay share a vision to promote electronic money and to offer cost efficient money transfers to remittent workers working outside their home country.   

Omnipay, the Philippine prepaid card platform offers a multicurrency, re-loadable pre-paid card to customers of all walks of life, as well as businesses. Omnipay is direct member of China Union Pay and Bancnet and an approved e-money user by the Philippine Central Bank.

With the new Omnipay connection implemented, a Eurogiro member in Italy may now accept a remittance at a post office and transfer the funds to a recipient in the Philippines, who can receive the transfer on a re-loadable, prepaid card. The funds can be spent in any ATM, POS or internet shop connected to the network.

Eurogiro members reach more than 500,000 branches and 4 billion people in more than 50 countries. Omnipay enables use of the dense card infrastructure in the region. Landbank, a Eurogiro member of the Philippines is already collaborating with Omnipay.
