April 1st 2013 - Michel Stuijt took up the post as CEO of Eurogiro
Eurogiro is pleased to introduce you to Michel
Stuijt who comes from a position as General
Manager - Market Management at Equens.
He is well known within the payments arena,
with more than 25 years of corporate banking
and payment experience.
Sylvie Solignac, Eurogiro Board Chairman,
commented that “Eurogiro will be well looked
after with Michel Stuijt at the helm. Michel
has the personality and the expertise from
within the banking, payments and IT sectors
which Eurogiro needs to expand its reach
and services”.
“Trend-setting processing standards and sett-
lement arrangements, plus a unique mix of
member organisations and payment experts”
says Michel Stuijt “is how Eurogiro has forged
new roads in the past and I am keen to lead
Eurogiro in taking this strategy to a new level,
in close cooperation with members, partners
and the Eurogiro team”.
Another important event that has taken place
in Eurogiro is the annual Eurogiro Community
Meeting in Budapest between 14 and 16 May
– co-hosted together with Magyar Posta, a
Eurogiro member since 2001.
For Eurogiro the annual Community Meeting
is seen as one of the most important events
as it gives all members the opportunity to
develop their own business, to share ideas on
new business initiatives and marketing activi-
ties, to help towards shaping the future of the
Eurogiro company and, not least, to discuss
bilaterally with existing and new partners – all
at the same venue.
You will find a variety of impressions from
the meeting with a dedicated dinner event
celebrating Eurogiro’s 20 years of anniversary
in this Newsletter.

24 hours response time for query handling in force
within the Eurogiro community
One year has passed since the new query response rules were introduced in Eurogiro and the results are
beginning to show
Since the new rule of a 24 hour response
time was introduced on 1st of July 2012,
Eurogiro has twice monitored to what extent
the new query handling standard has been
implemented by all members; the first time
was in October 2012 and the second time
was in February 2013.
The results are encouraging. Both for cash
and credits response times are above
80% and more than 70% of the eligible
responses are final answers. At the same
time, the number of queries is decreasing.
After just one year in operation with this new
rule, these are very good results. Eurogiro
members will experience cost reduction and,
even more importantly, clients will receive
an improved service. The adjustment to the
query handling rules meant that the rules
for responding to a query became uniform
between all members, independent of their
participation in the MultiLateral Framework.
The new rules for query handling are:
>
All queries must be answered within 24
hours (on working days)
>
The response must be a final answer if
the query relates to Credit/pay-out by own
organisation
>
In case the query relates to a credit/
pay-out by a 3rd party, the response must
include notification that the query has
been passed on to the 3rd party within 24
hours after receipt of the query.
