with in taking over the 10 year old software
code from India. Even though the code was
in reasonable shape, there is always room
for improvement when a number of different
developers have maintained it.
One of the first things needed was to move
the code into the standard development
environment used by Seavus. This included
moving from Apache Ant to Apache Maven.
The second step was to write scripts for unit
testing so they could start reshaping the code
without changing functionality.
Member presentations
There is a strong interest in learning how
others are doing things and we were happy

first generation of the application developed
in COBOL and supported on a single plat-
form, to the java based applications of today
supported on literally any platform. From
X.25 network technology, to Internet support,
MPLS and SWIFTNet.
New software vendor
Eurogiro has selected Seavus as our supplier
for software development - as described in
the February issue of the Newsletter. The
TUG was an excellent opportunity to present
the new developers and for our members to
meet and discuss software-related issues.
The TUG is about the members and the Community
