Eurogiro has changed software provider
Eurogiro has successfully relocated its software development from India to Europe
Eurogiro has selected Seavus as our new
vendor for software development and main-
tenance. Since the very start, Eurogiro has
outsourced the development and maintenance
of our applications. We believe that we thereby
have a better control of our expenses and also,
more importantly, have access to the technolo-
gies that are needed to support the business
requirements for developing new services.
For almost 10 years we have contracted with
a Danish company which subcontracted the
development to L&T Infotech in India. The
move to a new vendor was triggered by a need
to change the contractual terms. The Danish
contractor was not able to meet our require-
ments and it was not possible, at the time, to
sign a direct contract with L&T Infotech in India.
In the search for a new vendor we used the
following criteria:
>
Willingness to take over the existing code
>
Reasonably sized company (200+ employees)
>
Economics
>
Eurogiro in control of development team
>
Good customer base
In Seavus we found a company that could
meet all our requirements. The developers will
be located in Belgrade. This gives us some
additional advantages such as:
>
Near shore location, same time-zone
>
Short travel distance
>
No VISA needed for travel between Serbia
and rest of Europe
Shortly after the signing of the contract we
started the migration.
Phase I: Preparation
All new development was put on hold and
the preparation began to make the software
ready for transfer. Eurogiro carried out inter-
views for potential members of the Seavus
development team, followed by the selection
of the ones that should be part of the
migration team. In mid-December the selected
team members received presentation on
our services through a number of webinar
sessions.
Phase II: Knowledge transfer
At the beginning of January we started the
real migration / knowledge transfer. The Sea-
vus team visited the Eurogiro office for more
detailed presentations and an introduction to
the business procedures and message flows.
Here the team also met with our Service
Desk. Eurogiro and the team then went to
visit L&T Infotech in India for the technical
knowledge transfer and hand-over of the
code and documentation. At the end of the
visit the Seavus team officially took over the
responsibility.
Phase III: Expanding the team
The Seavus team will be expanded to the
size required to support and further develop
the Eurogiro applications. L&T Infotech has
agreed to provide support for at least a
month to ensure a successful migration.
Throughout the migration we have received
very good service from L&T Infotech - our old
service provider - in the transfer of knowledge.
They have been very active in setting up the
migration environment and providing the re-
quired information. Due to the professionalism
of both L&T Infotech and Seavus, the migration
was completed within the expected time-frame.
It is also important to mention that the migra-
tion was kept well within the budget.

Official hand-over:
In Seavus (right) we have a partner that can
fully support our requirements for flexibi-
lity, technology and economy. The size of
the team can be adjusted at short notice to
support our demands for resources.
Eurogiro will engage the staff at Seavus
further in the Eurogiro IT services. This will
be done by continuing the progress made
with the L&T team (left) to create a cross
border team where Eurogiro, our Service
Desk and the developers work as a single
team
