Eurogiro CEO Commentary
During the first quarter of 2012 Eurogiro has continued to focus on growing the business for its
members – and the planning of two important annual events has been an important element during
this period
The Eurogiro Community assembled in
Athens, Greece, during the days 8 – 10
May for the annual Eurogiro meeting – this
year the meeting was hosted by ELTA
Hellenic Post. For the Eurogiro company
the annual Community Meeting is seen as
one of the most important events as it gives
all members the opportunity to develop
their own business, to share ideas on new
business initiatives and marketing activities,
to help towards shaping the future of the
Eurogiro company and, not least, to discuss
bilaterally with existing and new partners
– all at the same venue. You will find more
impressions, with photos from the event, in
this Newsletter.
During the days 12 – 14 June the annual
Eurogiro Technical User Group Meeting –
which we also count among the most impor-
tant events – will take place in Milan, Italy
and there all members’ technical/IT people
will meet to discuss new developments
within their field and to get an update on
latest and soon coming new developments
of the Eurogiro applications. In this meeting
too, Eurogiro colleagues and the Eurogiro
Help Desk are open and very interested in
getting input on what is needed for further
development of the applications and sup-
port services – all aiming at meeting the
need of the Eurogiro members and their
clients. Details from this meeting will be
dealt with in the next Eurogiro Newsletter.
The Eurogiro Cash International
®
(ECI
®
) is
gaining pace and we are pleased to present
news from Nova Banka on how they see the
opportunities of making good business within
remittances and the use of this product. The
ECI
®
is also the base for the newly opened
Eurogiro - IFS Interconnection where the
first live transactions were exchanged
between Poste Italiane and Egypt Post on
2 May.
Also in the Newsletter we are focussing on
the quality of payment processing, bringing
interviews with the vice chairman of the
Eurogiro Board, Dr. Mario Daberkow, and
the newly-appointed Deutsche Bank’s
Global Head of Sales, Cash Management
Financial Institutions within Global Transac-
tion Banking, John Ball, – and finally there
is a brief introduction to our new colleague,
Gene Gutierrez who joined Eurogiro on 18
March.

Eurogiro members
Eurogiro is a commercial company that promotes bilateral and multilateral business opportunities among its members. Eurogiro members
are active in retail financial services and wholesale banking worldwide. Although its roots are in Western Europe, Eurogiro spans five continents.
Eurogiro offers an electronic payment system that is the only cross-border payment system which covers both postal and banking products.
The Eurogiro head office is in Copenhagen; Eurogiro also has a branch office in Singapore.
