Looking forward, the Asia Pacific region
represents a high growth payment ex-
change opportunity for the Eurogiro com-
munity. Transaction volumes are expected
to grow significantly with existing and new
members. While intra-regional transac-
tions are a focus area, there is also growth
potential for payment corridors outside of
the region. To support the growth in Asia
Pacific and continue a high standard of
customer support, Eurogiro has plans
to add an additional senior staff member
in early 2012. This will also enable
Eurogiro to provide more collaboration
with members to support their payment
corridor expansion plans.
While today’s Eurogiro members exchange
cash and account transactions via the
Eurogiro network, the Eurogiro Card/
Mobile Working Committee sees great
value for members in the Asia Pacific
region to expand via these new channels.
Eurogiro will be represented at a number
of key conferences in the region this year
including the Asia Pacific Postal Union’s
Executive Committee Meeting to be held
in Hong Kong in May, and Sibos, SWIFT’s
annual conference to be held in Osaka,
Japan in November. Based on the success
of the Asia Pacific meeting in New Delhi
in November 2010, Eurogiro also plans
to hold a similar gathering in a major Asia
Pacific city the second half of 2012. This
meeting will include Eurogiro members
and prospects.

Eurogiro CEO commentary
Pursuant to The Oriental Zodiac Cycle we are now in the year of the Dragon and also the Chinese
New Year has been celebrated. This leads to that we can say that the new year has really started
everywhere. It is a cliché but, as with every year, we will face our challenges and will experience
our ups and downs. In Eurogiro we will focus on the “ups” aiming at expanding the community
by attracting new members, opening new payment corridors and providing new services and
business opportunities for our members
As promised in my commentary in the last
Newsletter of 2011, Al Rajhi Bank which
joined the Eurogiro community in November
last year is portrayed in this first 2012 issue.
Since November we also have had the
pleasure of welcoming two additional new
members, namely Liberty Bank from Georgia
in December 2011 and Lithuania Post in
January this year. Also these two new mem-
bers will introduce themselves in this issue,
and all our members will have the opportunity
to meet their representatives at our forthcom-
ing annual Community Meeting. Last month
we sent out the invitation to all our members
to attend the Eurogiro Community Meeting,
to be held in Athens, Greece, on 8-10th May
and expect, as every year, that all members
will send representatives to attend the mee-
ting. We have worked on an exciting business
and leisure programme, which allows plenty
of time for our members’ bilateral meetings
with all those other members with whom they
would like to discuss business. Eurogiro is
well represented at the meeting, where we
will present new business initiatives and dis-
cuss how these can be developed to support
the business of our members. I am looking
forward to a prosperous year for all.

The transition of the Eurogiro office in Singapore from a representative office to a branch of
Eurogiro A/S in Copenhagen, Denmark signals the strategic importance of the Asia Pacific
region for Eurogiro and its members
During the past few years, the Eurogiro

with the entry of Bangladesh Post, India
Post, Vietnam Post and Land Bank of
the Philippines.
